Dress-up...Even Daddy

Abigail received Pretty Pretty Princess for Christmas and it has been a huge hit. If you have a daughter who loves princesses or playing dress up, you need this game. Daddy even gets involved and gets to dress up. My sweet hubby be the competitive soul that he is, was so proud that he was the first one to win Pretty Pretty Princess. Yes.....you have to put on all the jewlery to win. I think we have played it everyday since she got it. Playing with the neighbor girls Aspyne and Emma.

SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!

Matching Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in St. Louis with Danny's family. We switch holidays every year, so since we would not see them at Christmas we exchanged gifts. Abigial was so excited to see her BIG cousins and get to play with them. We bought the girls pajamas for Christmas and while shopping Abigail kept saying how great it would be to match with her cousins. It is really hard to find pajamas for a high school, junior high and preschool girl to match....but I did it. Abigial did not know so when the girls opened their presents I gave her a present as well. She was beyond tickled pink!!! Of course after baths and getting ready for bed, we had to have a photo session. Even when they get old sometimes it is hard to get them to pose for a good picture...so here they are....silly, crazy pics and all!!!

Dallas Trip

Danny had a recriuting trip to Dallas planned for early December. He was going to be there all week long, in one spot....so Abigail and I decided to go with him. We figured it might be one of the last times we could do this considering she will be in Kindergarten next year...that is another story!! We had so much fun. Danny would leave every morning and go to the schools and Abigail and I would eat breakfast, workout, go to the pool, play in the room and then she would take a nap. Danny would get back by 5 or so and then we hit the town(city) every night. It was fun getting to pick places to go. One of my best friends, Kim lives fairly close to Dallas so she came and spent a day with Abigail and I. She is pregnant so it was exciting to see her and her little belly!!! The Dallas trip was a success and I hope we get to do another trip with Daddy soon.
The things four year old minds come up with in a hotel room!!!

We forgot flip flops and coverups for the pool...considering it was winter I did not even think about it.....so Abigail improvised.

One of our many new restaurants we tested while in Dallas!!

Downtown strolling around!!

This night was probably my favorite........the Galleria mall. I did not get to shop since I was with my husband, but I did get to see the amazing tree in the middle of the ice rink. Abigail was in awe of the rink and the girls that were skating. We wanted to skate but students were having lessons while we were there.

Another reason this night was my favorite was because outside of the mall is the American Girl store. I have never been in one and Danny said that I was having more fun than Abigail. I would have given anything when I was a little girl to go to a shop like that. We had not introduced the dolls to Abigail yet....we were waiting for her to be able to appreciate them!! She did not react as I thought she would because she loves........baby dolls. We went through the whole store without much reaction to everything...then we got to the bitty baby section. She was now in her element. She loved it and of course did not want to leave. So, mommy and daddy broke down and secretly bought a bitty baby for her for Christmas.

With Daddy outside of the store.

So much to look at!!

Abigail loves Kimmy, as we call her, and was so excited that she came to visit. We had a fun girl day with her, going to lunch and shopping. Thanks for visiting Kim, we love and miss you tons!!!

Our Newest Family member.......

This is our newest family member....CODY! He joins our sweet dog Bandit who would not cooperate for a picture of the two of them together. We "adopted" him over Thanksgiving break when Danny's Great Aunt had a mild stroke and is not able to care for him while in rehab. He is very big, but is very big at heart and thinks he is a lap dog. He traveled all the way from St. Louis in the backseat of our car next to Abigail...and his head on the armrest trying to get lovin. Abigail loves him and runs around the yard after him. Cody is mixed Rotweiler and Shar'Pei
This is Cody with his RED ball from Missouri. If you need a good laugh just come and watch him with the ball...it is very funny....we call the ball Wilson.

THE CHANDELIER...........

Well....this chandelier has been in the making for a long.......time. When Abigail was about to turn four I started to look around for a chandelier for her room. I wanted to make it a little more girlie. So, we looked around at a lot of different places, looked with Ru Ru and Pa Pa, and looked some more. I could not find what I wanted..for the price I wanted. Well, Abigail on the other hand knew exactly what she wanted....BIG and Sparkly!!! One time when I was in Lowes to get something...not a chandelier.....Abigail looked at me with her eyes as big as they could get and said....Stop mama.....I stopped and she said with all seriousness.....THAT IS THE ONE! I turned around and there was the biggest light in Lowes, overflowing with lights, beads, and crystals. It was of course over $1000.....at least she has great taste. I told her that it was beautiful, but we had to be able to fit it through the front door to get it to her room...so we slowly walked away from "THE ONE". Well, I began looking for old lights at yard sales and put Pa Pa and Ru Ru on the same task......well this is our final product......a $5 light from a garage sale, a great paint job, new lights, and a lot of stringing of glass beads and crystals. Needless to say.....Abigial is very excited about her "NEW" Chandelier and shows everyone that walks into our house!!! Working hard for his girls!!!!

THE ZOO

Last Friday we took a trip to the ZOO! We had so much fun. My friends Mandy and Martha, along with their children, Caroline, Will, Joe Gunn, and Hollyn joined Abigail and I on an adventure. It was a beautiful day to enjoy God's beautiful creations! It seemed at times that we were the only people at the zoo, so the kids had a lot of freedom to run ahead and enjoy themselves. As mothers it was great because we did not have to search for them or keep them close all day. We were able to see a lot of the animals up and moving because it was a nice cool morning. While watching the elephants and looking for the zebras we had snack time and then off to see the monkeys. It was so awesome when we strolled up to the chimps.......there was a zoo keeper standing there feeding the chimps. He was so nice and talked to us for a long time answering all of our questions. The best part was getting to see the little baby...aka...Mo Joe.
The zoo keeper said he was born in March and showed us who the mother and father were. He was the cutest little thing. Us moms more more intrigued than the kids! We had a wonderful picnic lunch, many.........trips down the elephant slide and of course it is not a visit to the zoo with out a ride on the carousel. It was a wonderful day with wonderful friends, that ended with a really long nap!!!
I LOVE GIRAFFES.......They are beautiful creatures!
